Pose-controlled Balloon: A Fun Way to Interact with AI

– I thought you needed to be a genius to move stuff on the screen with your face, turns out it's way simpler than you think. Also terms like AI seem quite intimidating at first but this is a good start.

"Pose-controlled Balloon" is a web application that uses AI pose detection to control a free-floating balloon with hand and face gestures. This workshop is a fun and interactive way for beginners to explore the possibilities of AI and machine learning. By using a popular machine learning library like TensorFlow.js, we hope to inspire other participants to experiment with these technologies and come up with creative applications of their own.

The app will be built with TensorFlow.js and it's PoseNet model, allowing users to interact with a digital balloon through simple hand and face movements. By using a live video stream, the app will be able to detect the positions of various parts of the body, and translate them into the movements of the balloon. Users can make the balloon move by simply tilting their head.

    Preparations:

    • Basic understanding of front end
    • Web camera

We will be using Codesandox to carry out the workshop. It's recommended to have a free account there, simple google signup (It's not mandatory since you can still try it out, but your code won't be saved for the future unless you have an account)
